Can I draw? - Day 3

According to the non-existing experiment schedule, Day 3 is doodle-day! Granted, once I threw myself at the empty paper I did make some minor discoveries concerning shading AND attempted some light tracing.

After failing a couple of portraits I had to look into the majestic world of Warhammer 40K in order to draw the basic shape of a head from a Tau Warrior (GTFO Tau haters!). I say basic because the actual design is pretty basic itself.

The Tau pulse rifle seems rather miserable. The Tau head on the other hand remains expressionless. Well, the helmet does anyway...

I am not sure whether tracing is cheating or not (it's not) but it certainly helps in order to teach your muscle memory. I opened the D&D Third Edition Monster Manual and immediately flipped the pages to D, for Dragons (as you do...). After tracing the head and part of the wings I tried to do the rest with the "look and draw" technique. There are three different types of legs on the poor Bronze Dragon.

A joke that Andreas Kopriva would appreciate would be "There are approximately 100% more dragons in this post when compared to a Game of Thrones episode".

I added the little man later (he is there in the Manual as well) without looking and got the scale roughly right. I wouldn't want to run into that, ever (even though they are Lawful Good). Going through him I realised how different shades help out when using a single pencil.

The rest are just little bits and pieces including an amp pedal I have here in the lair.

Feeling bold I added a tiny sign of Khorne. I hope none of his forces see it. Then again, there's the Chaos symbol there. Yeap, I am done for.

Day 4 will probably include watching Sheldon Borenstein videos  before putting pencil to paper.

For now, y'all enjoy the weekend!
